Old friends pass away, new friends appear. It is just like the days. An old day passes, a new day arrives. The important thing is to make it meaningful: a meaningful friend - or a meaningful day.

Departed

Agile and full of energy he was. A family that loved him more than anything that this world could possibly posses. Good father, Good son, Good brother, Good Husband, Good Friend, Good Uncle, and above all things one hell of a MAN. If you met him you were indeed blessed. His presence alone could captivate a room with his imense grin and gentle ways of being.
Ravishing and handsome, salt & pepper hair with a perfectly trimmed mustache to compliment. He was unique and one of a kind.
Outgoing, optimistic, and taken. Healthy as a horse, how did it happen? Why are we here at this moment grieving for this indescribable, remarkable Man who lived? Why is it so hard to make sense of it, and why are we trying so hard to make sense of it. Selfishness is in our nature, and for that we want him here with us. We can’t accept that he has gone to a world of peace and tranquility, a world where our hands can’t reach nor our scent perceive not tangible but so painfully eternal. A place where we aspire one day to go.
We miss you and there are no words to console our souls. You lived a fruitful life, and made those around you smile and embrace the beauty’s that life had to offer. A daughter that loves you, a wife who dreamt of having a man like you by her side, a mother whom could not be more proud of her son, and brothers who shared a secretly brotherhood bond that cannot be described.Every individual that crossed paths with you was privileged.
Perhaps if you weren’t so amazing it would be easier to let go, but you were - and it is.
All I can say is that I look forward to seeing you again on a boat getting ready to go fishing, having a black label on the rocks with a cuban cigar, and screaming to Juan.. “lets get the show on the road”

Rest In Peace our beloved.

Pride or Fear??

Posted by admin on 21 May 2008 | Tagged as: Open-ended

Do we stop ourselves from doing things because of our pride or is it fear? Will we regret about not saying or doing something because of it? How can we overcome this feeling and express our true beings freely to not live in remorse? Should we even overcome this feeling or is it good to attain Pride? Do you think fear at times is defined as pride?

The Yearning to Know

Posted by admin on 25 Apr 2008 | Tagged as: Weekly Thoughts

We all have been presented with situations at times that could make us question everything in our lives including our very existence. In these moments we find ourselves in a “tug of war” in which we are our own worst enemy. Not able to take guidance or unwilling to do so.

As someone very dear to me told me once, “life is a journey, not a destination.” I am indeed young, naive, and full of life. I too sometimes seek the arrival of were I will remain, but again why are we so eager to get there? Is the present so dreadful that we cannot look upon it even if its to at least learn from it?

We all crave love, and have so much of it to reciprocate in return. Though is it because of the hunger for this indescribable emotion that at any opportunity that we are given to receive it, even if its in  the most miniscule manner that  we launch to grab it not caring about the amount, or even if its kindness dressed as love. We are hunters for love, though we must be careful and not get carried away for at many times we’ll mistake a cat for a baby tiger.

I am human and I too have mistaken the cat for the baby tiger, and I will probably to do so again or maybe not, I don’t know what the future has in store.

I don’t want to yearn to know, I want to know or do I? Yes, life is to short, and precious to be wondering about the unknown. Some of us are not  open-books, and we refrain from asking those who are closed out of fear, the fear of knowing what lies beneath and if we’re even prepared for it. When it comes to love though; this feeling of sublime ecstasy  with at times sorrow and pain, we want to know if we’re receiving in return what we have given. A vague answer won’t due, we are for the most, sensitive creatures that become vulnerable once exposed and regain our strength when reminded  that in actuality we are not exposed with truth and honesty. With that said though at times it comes quietly, so do beware because you may actually know without knowing!
